Binghamton Police Investigate Two Shootings Within Six Hours
Detectives believe there is a connection between a pair of shooting incidents that occurred in the city of Binghamton.
Authorities said police were sent to 25 Robinson Street on the East Side around 7:15 p.m. Thursday to investigate a report of shots fired.
Police determined two men who were in a red sedan approached a man. One of the occupants of the car got out of the vehicle and fired two or three shots toward the intended target. That man was not injured. The sedan then drove from the area.
The second incident happened about six hours later - around 1:15 a.m. Friday. A police officer on patrol heard several gunshots. Moments later, multiple callers reported shots had been fired on Pine Street.
Police determined shots had been fired and struck a two-family residence at 74 Pine Street.
There was no indication any person was hit by gunfire. The suspects involved apparently fled the area on foot.
Investigators said they are seeking two men in connection with their investigation. Both had been wearing masks. One was dressed in all black clothing while the other was dressed in black with lighter jeans.
The shootings on Robinson Street and Pine Street are believed to be related.
People with information about the incidents may contact the Binghamton police detective bureau at (607) 772-7080.
