The Binghamton Mets are hoping their top pitcher can duplicate the work of another outstanding prospect as the B-Mets host the Akron Aeros tonight at 635 PM (air at 6:20 PM on News Radio 1290 WNBF).  Logan Verrett will start on the mound for the B-Mets against the Aeros' Paolo Espino.  Verrett has a record of 5-1 and an ERA of 3:04.

Last night another top prospect in the B-Mets rotation, Rafael Montero, pitched six solid innings givng up two runs, striking out six and earning his fourth win of the season.  Akron jumped out to an early two- run lead but Binghamton battled back to take the decision 5-2.

With the win the B-Mets move to 20-18 on the year while the Aeros drop to 19-19.  B-Mets closer Jeff Walters earned his tenth save of the season and leads the Eastern League in that department.  Binghamton batters banged out 14 hits...a season-high.
