Authorities say Donte Hensford of Binghamton was arrested following the incident that reportedly happened in a Floral Avenue residence.

Investigators say police were called to an apartment house around 12:20 a.m. Wednesday by a man who said he had been there visiting a friend.

The man told officers Hensford arrived at the apartment and became angry. Hensford allegedly began to push the man around before threatening to cut him with a folding pocket knife.

Hensford then is said to have punched the man in the face, knocking him to the floor.

Police found Hensford a short distance from the apartment house. He was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree menacing.

Police said the weapon charge was because Hensford had a prior conviction for felony reckless endangerment.

Hensford was arraigned in Johnson City village court and sent to Broome County Jail.
