Binghamton Graduation Rates Lag

A little over half of Binghamton High School students graduated last year according to New York State Education Department numbers.

While the State’s graduate rate increased slightly to 78.1%, the City School District's graduation rate came in at 54%.

District officials say, however, the numbers don’t indicate the students who relocated to the district, those in alternative programs like BOCES or the ones who graduated in August.
