A diner that's been a fixture on Binghamton's West Side for decades remains for sale.

Danny's Diner at 151 Main Street has been on the market since late last year. Customers have been awaiting word on the future of the restaurant.

Some patrons say they've been told the place is about to be sold and there could be some big changes in store for the iconic diner.

But owner Pamela Alimonti told WNBF News there's been no deal yet to sell the restaurant. She said a few people have expressed an interest in purchasing the diner over the past several months but nothing's happened.

Alimonti said there now are conversations with someone who seems "very interested" in acquiring the business and keeping everyone in place. She expressed optimism that a deal will be finalized soon.

In the meantime, Danny's Diner continues to operate as usual. The eatery will be open Thanksgiving Day from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Danny Giannicchi continues to show up at the diner every day, ready to serve breakfast and lunch to hungry customers.

Giannicchi first started cooking in the Sterling Streamliner Dining Car back in 1970. He said his motto over the years has been to "work hard... that's all!"
