The Binghamton Devils earned a 5-3 road win at Utica on Wednesday night to move into a tie for seventh place with Cleveland in the American Hockey League's (AHL) North Division.  Binghamton and Cleveland both have 40 points. The Devils are 18-19-4-0.  Coming up this weekend Binghamton can make up more ground in the division with games versus Syracuse and Rochester.

Friday night Binghamton travels up I-81 to Syracuse to meet the Crunch.  Syracuse has a five point lead on the Devils with 45 points.  Then on Saturday night the Devils host the Rochester Americans at the Floyd L Maines Veterans Memorial Arena.The Americans are in third place in the division with 50 points.

There is a two-way tie for first place in the north.  Both Belleville and Utica have 54 points.  The Devils are preparing for their big "Slapshot" weekend on January 31 and February 1.  Special guest on both nights will be Jerry Houser who played the role of Dave "Killer" Carlson in the movie which starred Paul Newman and became one of the most viewed and talked about sports movies.
