After being closed to the public for more than 15 months, Binghamton City Hall is about to reopen.

Mayor Richard David has announced the downtown governmental building will reopen at 9 a.m. Wednesday. He said the city's "State of Emergency" has been lifted.

City administrative offices have been closed since March 16, 2020 because of the Covid-19 pandemic. In some cases, residents were able to schedule meetings with city representatives by appointment.

David is urging people to continue to take advantage of online services and drop-boxes that have been available over the past year.

Masks will be required to enter City Hall. Visitors will be screened for Covid-19.

City council and other governmental meetings will be open to the public beginning Wednesday. Masking and social distancing guidelines will be in place.

All pubic meetings will be held in City Council Chambers. Council business and work sessions will continue to be livestreamed.
