Binghamton Bearcats Host Canisius Tonight in Women’s Basketball

Basketball returns to the Events Center tonight at 7 when the Binghamton Bearcats women's team hosts the Canisius Golden Griffins.  Canisius comes into tonight's game with a 2-1 record and won at Oakland last weekend.  The Griffs have a local connection. Two past Binghamton Patriot standouts are garnering plenty of minutes in the Canisius lineup.  Jen Mirabito scored 16 points in their last game against Oakland. Another guard for the Griffs..Tiahana Mills, notched seven points, had six rebounds and added eight assists in that last outing.

The Bearcats are looking for their initial victory this season.  They dropped an 89-48 decision at Bucknell last week to fall to 0-2.  Forward Sherae Swinson scored 17 points to pace the Bearcats in scoring.  Kim Albrecht also hit for double figures with 10 points.

These two teams have met seven previous times on the hardwood.  Canisius has the edge in the series 5-2.  Last season the Golden Griffins topped the Bearcats in Buffalo 61-50.
