Prominent local physician and Binghamton University Foundation Board of Directors member Dr. Bai Lee has made a gift of one million dollars to the University's Department of Athletics.  It is the largest single gift made to the University's Athletic Department in school history.

The gift will support improvements and enhancements that will impact many of the University's students, athletes and coaches.  Portions of the gift have already gone to Men's Basketball locker room renovations with plans to utilize additional funds for strength and conditioning program expansion as well as enhancing the sports medicine team and the Student Success Center.

Dr. Lee was the first maternal fetal medicine specialist in Binghamton and established the high-risk pregnancy center at Wilson Memorial Hospital, serving as director.  He has delivered more than 7,000 babies and performed more than 10,000 gynecologic surgeries in the community.  He has been a member of the Binghamton University Foundation Board of Directors since 2014.

In honor of his generosity the University is naming the Events Center basketball court the Dr. Bai Lee Court.  The official unveiling will take place prior to the men's basketball game vs. Army at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 15.
