The Binghamton Senators and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins battled into overtime tonight in their opening game of their first round Calder Cup playoff series.  Anton Zlobin skated away from a couple of defenders, moved into the slot and fired the puck past B-Sens netminder Andrew Hammond at 8:40 of the extra session.

Goal scorers for Binghamton were Cody Ceci and Jean-Gabriel Pageau.  Andrew Hammond made 34 saves in net for the B-Sens.  Peter Mannino turned aside 27 shots in goal for the Penguins.

The game had three apparent goals waved off by officials.  Two of those waved off were what could have been Binghamton goals.  The Penguins have have great success in the postseason.  They now have defeated the B-Sens eight consecutive times in playoff competition.  Last year they bounced Binghamton out of the playoffs with three one-goal wins.

Game two is set for tomorrow (Saturday) night at 7:05.  Tickets are available at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.
