B-Mets Rip Curve in Road Win
The Binghamton Mets clobbered the Altoona Curve last night in Altoona at Peoples Natural Gas Field 15-6. The win broke an eight-game road losing streak for Binghamton and upped the B-Mets overall record to 31-25.
Tyler Pill upped his record to 3-5 as he gave up three runs on six hits over six innings to get the victory. It was the first time the B-Mets banged out 19 hits in a game since they played Altoona on July 7, 2010.
Binghamton's Matt Clark and Kevin Plawecki each had four hits . Plawecki hit his sixth home run of the season and collected four RBI to pace Binghamton's attack.
The B-Mets and Curve square off again tonight at 7 PM (air at 6:45 with Tim Heiman on News Radio 1290 WNBF. Hansel Robles will face Joely Rodriguez on the mound tonight in game two of the three-game series. The B-Mets return home to host New Britain in a three-game series beginning Friday night at NYSEG Stadium.
