The Binghamton Mets powered their way to victory last night with an 11-4 romp over the New Britain Rock Cats at NYSEG Stadium.  Binghamton used three home runs and an eight run second inning to roll to a win. The B-Mets are in first place in the Eastern Division of the Eastern League.  They lead Trenton by one-half game  and Reading by one and one-half games.  New Hampshire is three games behind Binghamton.

Brock Peterson slammed a pair of home runs and Josh Rodriguez ripped a solo shot off the top of the message board in left field.  Robert Gsellman started and earned his fourth win in his last six starts.

The B-Mets now head to Richmond for four straight games beginning tonight at 7:05 (air at 6:50 on News Radio 1290 WNBF).  Their record is 57-46.  Rainy Lara is tonight's scheduled starter for manager Pedro Lopez.  Binghamton's win Wednesday night was the 300th career victory for Lopez as manager of the B-Mets.
