The Binghamton Mets began a week-long road swing as they open a series in New Britain, Connecticut against the Rock Cats.  Binghamton is one-half game out of first place in the Eastern Division trailing Trenton and Reading who are tied for the top spot.  Binghamton took three out of four from the Thunder over the weekend including the July 19 9-4 romp.  In that one the B-Mets pounded Trenton pitching for 16 hits and home runs from Gavin Cecchini and Xorge Carillo.

Seth Lugo puts his 4-4 record on the line against New Britain's Shane Carle who is 9-5.  Binghamton heads into the series with a 50-43 record while the Rock Cats are 45-48.  July has been good to the B-Mets so far.  They are 11-6 and lead the Eastern League in ERA with a 1.97 mark and in team batting average at .283.
