The Binghamton Devils rallied once again to tie the game in the third period, and then score the winning goal in overtime, to defeat the Lehigh Valley Phantoms 2-1 in their home opener at RWJbarnabas Health Hockey House last night.

The Phantoms scored first on a power play goal by David Kase the first period, making it 1-0 going into the first admission.  The one goal lead would hold up through period number two.

The Devil’s Ben Thompson tied the game at one apiece in the third period, with a shot at the top of the crease, sending the game into overtime.

25 seconds into Overtime, Ben Street won the face off in the offensive zone, and passed to Brett Seney, who fired a shot past Phantom’s goalie Zane McIntyre through the net for the victory.

Devils Goaltender Evan Cormier collected the win with 25 saves.

The Devils will host the Utica Comets on Saturday afternoon at 4pm at the RWJbarnabas Health Hockey House.
