Apalachin Woman Charged with Identity Theft
A Tioga County woman who was a home health care provider has been accused of illegally using a patient's credit card.
Authorities say 41-year-old Wendy Kinchoy of Apalachin was arrested Saturday afternoon following an investigation into an unauthorized purchase.
According to New York State Police, the alleged incident happened last month.
Officials say Kinchoy had been hired to provide home health care for a person in Chenango County.
Investigators say Kinchoy made an unauthorized purchase with the client's credit card in June.
Kinchoy turned herself in to state police at Sidney. She was charged with third-degree identity theft, a misdemeanor.
Kinchoy was issued an appearance ticket for Guilford town court. She is scheduled to appear in court on September 3.
