Antenna Upgrade at WBNG Television Tower

Work is being done at the WBNG Television transmitter tower site off Ingraham Hill Road in the Town of Binghamton.  Tower crews along with a helicopter were at work today (Thursday) removing the upper portion of the analog antenna and upgrading to a new digital antenna.

The overall height is over 900 feet...that's more than the length of three football fields combined !  This is obviously no easy task.  If you have wondered how difficult and precise this must be take a look at the accompanying video and photos.
