Johnson City water department crews were called out again to make repairs to a broken line near the old Endicott Johnson Victory building.

The trouble on Avenue A near Helen Drive was reported around 3 a.m. Tuesday.

Thousands of gallons poured from the 12-inch line until workers were able to access a shutoff valve on Main Street.

Village Mayor Greg Deemie said repairs were being completed Tuesday afternoon. He said he was not aware of any homes or businesses that were affected by the water line break.

Water lines in the neighborhood are very old. A larger transmission line located nearby broke less than two months ago, causing the loss of an estimated 300,000 gallons of water.
