Action-Packed Day Two in NYSPHSAA Boys Basketball Championships
Play continues in day two of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Boys Basketball Championships at the Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena. In all 15 games will be played covering all five classifications and deciding championships in each one.
In play on Saturday morning in Class C semifinal action The Kats from Middle Early College from Section 6 defeated the Warriors from Lake George 80-62. Then in the second Class C semifinal the Greenport Porters from Section 11 defeated Section 3 representative Cooperstown in triple-overtime 108-98. the two winners meet on Sunday at noon for the Class C title.
In the Class D semifinals Oppenheim-Ephrata/St. Johnsville (OESJ) and Panama also went to overtime. OESJ finally prevailed with a 61-57 victory. OESJ advances to face the winner of the Marathon Olympians game with the Harrisville Pirates. Marathon is Section 4's lone representative. That game is going on at the time of this publishing.
