Broome County officials have announced two women and a man have died of COVID-19, raising the local number of coronavirus deaths to 15.

County Executive Jason Garnar Thursday afternoon said one of the women was over 100 years old and the other was in her 60s. He said the man was in his 90s.

Garnar said there have been a total of 244 confirmed coronavirus cases in Broome County. 143 of the cases are "active" with 12 people currently hospitalized. 86 people have recovered.

In his daily briefing, Governor Andrew Cuomo said 438 people had died of coronavirus in New York state on Wednesday. That brought the total number of COVID-19 deaths in the state to 15,740.
