A 32-year-old woman was sent to jail after she was charged with grand larceny in connection with the theft of religious items from an Otsego County church.

Authorities say Amber Joy of Morris was arrested late Tuesday night.

Investigators say Joy is suspected of taking the items from the Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church on Main Street in the village of Morris.

Joy allegedly stole a white altar cloth, several candles and holders, along with a bowl valued at $240.

Joy was arraigned in Morris town court. She was remanded to Otsego County Jail on $5,000 bail.
