A U.S. Postal worker is credited with alerting officials to a fire at a home in the town of Windsor Friday, January 29.

Authorities say the worker called the blaze on Bell Road into firefighters shortly before 1 p.m.

Fire officials say weak floors kept them outside the structure but the homeowner was able to rescue two cats that had been inside.

The home is considered a total loss.

There were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Firefighters from Windsor, West Windsor, Five Mile Point, Kirkwood, Susquehanna, Great Bend and Hallstead all responded.
