Full electric service had been restored to hundreds of NYSEG customers in Broome and Tioga counties who lost power because of the stormy weather over the past day.

Many customers along Vestal Parkway and Vestal Road lost electricity for hours early today.

Outages were reported in the towns of Binghamton, Chenango and Union in Broome County. Power interruptions also occurred in sections of the towns of Owego and Newark Valley in Tioga County.

NYSEG early this afternoon reported nearly 7,800 customers across the state remained without electric service. More than 2,000 customers in Westchester County were awaiting power restoration.

The status report from the utility indicated 302 Chenango County customers were still without service, as were 95 customers in Delaware County.

Another Iberdrola USA unit, Rochester Gas and Electric, reported 114 customers lacked electric service early this afternoon.
