The Vermont Catamounts clinched the America East Regular Season Championship with a 75-54 win over the Binghamton Bearcats in men's basketball last (Wednesday) night.  The game was played at Patrick Gymnasium in Burlington.  The Catamounts upped their conference record to 13-1 and clinched the title insuring home court advantage during the conference tournament.

The Catamounts had their 33-game winning streak versus America East opponents snapped with a one-point loss to Hartford on Sunday.  Binghamton trailed by seven points at the end of the first half but the Catamounts outscored the Bearcats 41-27 in the second half to secure the victory.

Vermont shot 53 percent from the field and made eight three-point baskets.  Two Catamounts score 18 points apiece.  Ernie Duncan and Drew Urquhart tallied 18 each while Peyton Henson scored 15 points and Trae Bell-Haynes fired in 12 more.

Binghamton's Farad Muhammad led BU scoring with 12 points while Caleb Stewart added 10 more.  Muhammad has reached double figures in his last three games.

The Bearcats have two more games on their regular season schedule.  BU hosts Hartford Saturday at 4 PM on Senior Day with Bearcat senior players honored prior to the game.  Binghamton then heads to Albany to close out the regular campaign against the Great Danes next Tuesday night.
