A celebration to mark the completion of the new playground structure at West Endicott Park is to be held Tuesday.

Town of Union officials say a ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony have been scheduled for 4 p.m.

A 25-year-old playground structure at the Maple Street park was replaced using money the town received from the federal government. The project cost about $75,000.

The park also features an original Allan Herschell Carousel which was installed in the late 1920s.

As part of the playground celebration, special activities are planned in the park from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Officials say face painting, arts and crafts, and ice cream will be available without charge as part of the program.
