The Union-Endicott Tigers throttled Carthage at Dick Hoover Stadium in Vestal last night 43-7 in a New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class A quarterfinal playoff game.  Quarterback Joey Orlando led the way with five touchdown passes and 228 yards through the air.

The Tigers dominated the first half and led 36-0 at the end of the second quarter.  Wide receiver C J Krowiak caught a pair of touchdown passes from Orlando.  Speedster Sammy Davis gained 128 yards on the ground with 15 carries.

With the victory the Tigers advance to play in Rochester next Friday in a state semi-final game.  They will meet Section 6 member Williamsville North in a scheduled 8 PM kickoff.

Across the river at U-E's Ty Cobb Stadium Tioga clobbered Herkimer 43-13 in a Class D quarterfinal.  Jesse Manuel rolled up 280 yards on the ground and rushed for four touchdowns to lead the Tigers to a victory.  The win advances Tioga to a battle with Randolph High, the team that edged Tioga 7-6 in last season's semifinal round.  That game will be played in Rochester at 5 PM next Friday.
