Two standout Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball players received honors today from America East.  Jordan Reed has been selected as Co-Player of the Week and Marlon Beck has been named the conference's Rookie of the Week.

Reed averaged 21.5 points per game in two contests last week including a game-high 26 points in the Carrier Dome against Syracuse Saturday night.  Beck hit for double figures in both of BU's games last week.  He hit for 19 points in the win against Mount St. Mary's and notched 14 points versus the Orange.

Reed played 39 minutes in the Syracuse game and hit 6 out of 10 shots, was 13-14 at the free throw line and grabbed seven rebounds for BU.  In the America East Reed is third in rebounding at 9.8 per contest and fourth in scoring averaging 16.6 points per game.

Beck joins teammates Nick Madray and Magnus Richards in earning Rookie of the Week honors. Over the two-game stretch last week he banged in 6 of 13 shots from three-point range.
