Travis Taijeron Earns Eastern League Honors
Binghamton Mets outfielder Travis Taijeron has been named the Eastern League's Player of the Week for the week ending July 13. Taijeron is in his second season with the Binghamton Mets. Last week he hit .400 with three home runs and ten runs batted in.
In 69 games this season Taijeron is hitting .251 with 46 RBI's. Since June 10 he has been on fire with a .718 slugging percentage which is tops in the Eastern League. Taijeron was an 18th round draft pick of the New Yorks Mets in 2011 out of Cal Poly Pomona. He had a huge series against the division-leading Portland Sea Dogs when he drove in nine runs including nine RBI's and a pair of four -RBI games. Last season Taijeron hit 14 home runs and drove in 42 runs in 65 games in a B-Mets uniform.
