The proposed path would be 2.5 miles long and run along the south side of State Route 434 from Pennsylvania Avenue to Murray Hill road in Vestal.  The route would have connections at Vestal Avenue at MacArthur Park, Ivanhoe road and the intersection of Vestal Road and State Route 434.

That route has drawn some controversy in the neighborhoods it would transverse with residents raising questions about safety, the amount of foot and bike traffic through the area and rights-of-way that might be needed for the development.

The D.O.T. says the plan is to have two sections of the Greenway linking Downtown Binghamton with the South Side, Binghamton University and the retail establishments along the way.

Public comments will be taken at the session.
