Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania Sheriff's officials say a fire at a gas compressor site in Brooklyn Township was quickly put out but deputies and fire crews remained on the scene for hours.

The Williams Central Compressor Station on Turnpike Road was reported on fire shortly after 11:00 p.m. May 14th.

Authorities say the building's emergency shutdown system activated and the gas was shut off shortly after the sensors went off.

There were no reports of injuries.

Officials with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and Williams Central are investigating the cause of the fire.
