State Police Probe Case of the Purloined Propane

Police in the Southern Tier are looking for someone with gas. A lot of gas, as in propane.

Authorities in Tompkins County say 21 full propane tanks have been reported stolen from the Manley's Mighty Mart on Danby Road in the town of Ithaca.

State police say the theft was reported on Thanksgiving Day.

The tanks were removed from the propane exchange cages outside the store while the business was closed.

Investigators say the propane tanks are valued at more than $1200.
