Three people, including two Cortland County Sheriff's officers, were injured when the patrol vehicle they were in collided with a car.

Authorities say the crash occurred Monday morning at the intersection of Routes 11 and 392 in the Town of Virgil.

According to the sheriff's office, the collision happened in a work zone, where a flag person was directing traffic.

Investigators say a 2007 Pontiac turned into the path of the patrol vehicle. Both officers in the unit were treated at Cortland Regional Medical Center for minor injuries.

The officers were released from the hospital after they were evaluated. The driver of the other vehicle sustained a minor injury but declined medical assistance.
