Sacred Heart Ukranian Church will hold its annual Ukranian Festival this Saturday and Sunday at their picnic grounds at 607 Brooks Road off Route 11 in Castle Creek.  The festival features ethnic Ukranian foods, chicken barbeque, Ukranian beer and lots of entertainment.

There will be a number of arts, crafts and games on display for people of all ages.  Church members have been preparing for weeks for the two-day event.  The food is all home-made including cakes and desserts.

Along with the delicious food and refreshments one of the area's most popular groups, Rooster and the Roadhouse Hens will perform Saturday afternoon. Then on Sunday afternoon the always popular Freddie Mendoza will perform.  Another popular highlight of the festival is dancing done by the Nezebudky Ukranian Dancers.  The dancers often include college students who return home for the summer and re-join the group for this weekend.

Speaking on WNBF First News with Roger Neel this morning Reverend Teodor Czabala from Sacred Heart Ukranian Church said the Festival goes from Noon - 8 PM both days. There will tents and a pavilion area open for visitors and diners throughout the event.
