Five Section 4 football teams will look to advance in the post-season playoffs as they play host to Section 3 opponents this weekend at Alumni Stadium in Binghamton.  Section 3 and Section 4 alternate hosting the Central New York Regional Playoffs each year.

Starting things off will be the Class A match-up between Maine-Endwell and Whitesboro.  The Spartans are riding New York State's longest-ever winning streak at 61 consecutive victories.  Whitesboro is 9-1 this season.

At 8:00 Friday night Section 4's Tioga meets Sandy Creek from Section 3 in the Class D Regional Playoff.  Tioga is 9-1 while Sandy Creek comes in with an 8-2 slate.

Football fans will be treated to a triple-header on Saturday.  Starting things off at Noon will be the Class C duel between the Chenango Forks Blue Devils and Utica Notre Dame.  The Forks advanced to the Regional Round by knocking out Newark Valley last weekend in the Section 4 title game.  The Blue Devils are 9-1.  UND is also 9-1 this year.

At 3 p.m. Class B competition features 8-2 Waverly against undefeated Cazenovia who carries a 10-0 mark into Saturday's duel.  Then at 6 p.m., Elmira meets Liverpool in the Class AA battle.  The Express KO'd Binghamton last weekend 64-50 in a wild contest featuring Elmira's powerful double-wing ground attack.
