Police: Fire Department Treasurer Stole Thousands

An Otsego County woman has been accused of taking thousands of dollars from a volunteer fire department.

Authorities say 42-year-old Lori Lamb of Hartwick was charged with third-degree grand larceny, a felony. Lamb also was charged with falsifying business records.

According to New York State Police, Lamb is suspected of stealing $29,439 from the Schuyler Lake Fire Department when she was its treasurer.

An investigation into missing money was launched early this month.

Lamb was arraigned in Richfield town court and released pending further court action.
