Owego Craft Brewers Tout Local Ingredients

A Tioga County husband and wife team have opened a craft brewery tap room in Owego.

Production of a range of beers for The Farmhouse Brewery is a few miles away from the George Street facility where people can sample the product.

The tasting room opened its doors about six months ago.

Marty and Natalie Mattrazo spent plenty of time and money to get all of the regulatory approvals and equipment to start brewing.

Their brewing operation is in Newark Valley, where various beers are fashioned from ingredients produced in the Southern Tier and elsewhere around New York state.

In addition to several varieties of beer, the Owego tap room features cider and "old-fashioned" sodas.

Binghamton On Tap will be held February 21. The event will take place at the DoubleTree By Hilton at 225 Water Street. Tickets are available online.
