One Month Until Binghamton Mets Season Opener
Baseball fans weary of winter can look forward to April 3. That's when the Binghamton Mets are scheduled to host the Akron RubberDucks to open the 2014 season.
A month before the planned opener, snow covered the NYSEG Stadium field in downtown Binghamton. There's also plenty of snow and ice throughout the stands.
The B-Mets will be hoping for good weather in order to launch the season on schedule. The first pitch for the opening game is set for 6:35.
The following night - a Friday - is scheduled to be capped off with fireworks.
Binghamton Mets manager Pedro Lopez is returning after leading the club to a franchise record 86 wins last season.
Tickets for this season's B-Mets games are on sale at the stadium box office. There's more information about the upcoming season at the Binghamton Mets website.
