New York Reviews Gas Station Fire Control Regulations
Officials in Albany are looking at the possibility to do away with the overhead fire suppression system at gas stations in New York.
The Cuomo administration is reviewing a recommendation from an advisory board but says eliminating the systems is not a done deal.
An administration spokesman told news outlets that the Department of State is in the very early stages of considering the recommendation.
Officials promise safety is of ultimate importance even as attempts are made to modernize New York’s Fire Safety Code.
