Wendy's Walk For Kids has been named "Charity of the Year" on the Champions Tour for the 2012 season.  Wendy's Walk For Kids is held on the last day of the Dick's Sporting Goods Open at En Joie Golf Course in Endicott.  This past year the Walk attracted over 700 participants and raised more than $190,000 for area charities.

With the award comes a check for $30,000 from the Champions Tour to add to the money raised during the event.  Wendy's founder Dave Thomas was a major proponent of helping kids get adopted and the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, created in his name, has helped thousands of kids without parents find homes.

Keli Cooper is the Walk organizer.  Joining in with the Dick's Sporting Goods Open, she has seen the event grow over the past couple of years and is already working on this year's Walk set for Sunday, August 19th.

All contributions go through Broome Community Charities for distribution.  Organization
