The City of Binghamton is strong and getting stronger.  Binghamton Mayor Richard David has delivered his second State of the City Address and told Council and residents that he is pleased with the progress that has been made over the past year in improving public safety, infrastructure and job opportunities and plans to build on the momentum.

The Republican says he remains concerned about taxes and plans to continue to rebuild staffing on the Binghamton Police force. The department is also in line to receive body cameras for patrol officers.

The Mayor has also outlined plans for over $27 million in capital improvement projects that include work on the parking garages, the Front Street Gateway and bridge repairs.

The former Magic City Ice Company building on Front Street at the gateway to downtown is also due to finally come down under the Mayor’s plans.
