Man Killed In Rollover Crash Near Cooperstown

The driver of a car that rolled over in Otsego County died of injuries sustained in the crash.

Authorities say 18-year-old Jacob Matteson of Richfield Springs lost control of the vehicle on County Route 22 in Otsego early Sunday morning.

According to state police, the southbound car drifted into the opposite lane. Investigators say the vehicle crossed back into the southbound lane and overturned on the shoulder. The car came to rest on its roof.

Police say Matteson was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy performed at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady concluded the man's death was accidental as a result of the crash.
