Man Faces Charges After Delaware County Crash

A 20-year-old man was arrested following an early-morning car crash in Delaware County.

Authorities say Jared Soodsma of Sprakers was charged with driving while intoxicated. He also faces counts of unlawful possession of marijuana and criminally using drug paraphernalia.

According to the Delaware County Sheriff's Office, Soodsma was arrested around 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

Investigators say Soodsma was the driver of a vehicle that crashed into a parked car in the Town of Hamden.

Deputies say some marijuana was seized after the collision. They also confiscated wrapping materials used to package drugs.

Soodsma was released on appearance tickets for Hamden town court.
