The Maine-Endwell Spartans crushed the Alden Bulldogs in a New York State Public High School Athletic Association semi-final football battle this afternoon at Rochester's Sahlen Stadium.

Maine-Endwell never trailed as they won their 24th game in a row and take a record of 12-0 into the Carrier Dome for the State Class B Championship vs the Glens Falls Indians next Saturday at 3 PM.  Glens Falls advances as they defeat Marlboro 28-17 in the other Class B semi-final game.

The Spartans combined their powerful running game with an effective passing attack to demolish the Bulldogs.  Wingback Justin Jacoby ran for a pair of touchdowns while fullback Nick Sorrenti rushed for 114 yards, one touchdown and a two-point conversion.

M-E's defense allowed a pair of late scores after keeping Alden off the board for over three quarters. The Spartans won the Class A Championship last season and  with a change in enrollment are now competing in Class B.  M-E has won two state titles...last season and in 2004.

Earlier in the day Section 4 Class C Champion Chenango Forks dropped a 20 - 7 semi-final game to Hornell.  Running back Isaiah Zimmer scored the only touchdown of the day for the Blue Devils.  Chenango Forks has won two state championships and was hoping to get a chance at a third but sees their season end with their first loss to finish
