Johnson City’s Arch St. Bridge to be Renovated

A major road construction project is planned for next year in Johnson City.

A public information meeting was held yesterday to outline the planned Arch Street Bridge reconstruction project.

The nine-month long construction project beginning in April of next year will mean a detour for northbound traffic.  Officials say they expect to maintain southbound traffic.

Engineers say the bridge is sound but work is needed on the deck, joints and some minor structural concrete on the bridge piers.
