A public hearing on a long-abandoned factory complex in West Endicott has been postponed.

The town of Union board had planned to hear comment Wednesday on a proposal to declare an old Endicott-Johnson facility "unsafe and dangerous."

The former shoe factory on North Page Avenue has been the source of neighborhood complaints for decades.

According to town officials, the public hearing has been rescheduled for December 4.

The delay came after officials learned of deed transfer for the property. The town now expects to name both the former deed owner and the current deed owner in the proposal.

Broome County property records now indicate the site is owned by Alpine Endicott Realty, LLC of Paulsboro, New Jersey.

The records show the property was sold by North Page, LLC, in August for $2,204,767.
