The Greater Binghamrton Sports Hall of Fame has announced the initial class of inductees who will be honored on April 20 at the Double Tree by Hilton on Water Street in Binghamton.  The organization was established to honor local people who have made significant contributions to the world of sports.  The announcement was made today by The Greater Binghamton Sports Hall of Fame Chairman Anthony Quagliata of AJQ Sports Management & Marketing.

A dinner will be held on Monday April 20 to kickoff the Hall of Fame and honor 16 inductees who comprise the Class of 2015.  The dinner will be held at the Double Tree by Hilton and begins with a cash bar at 5:30 PM and dinner at 6:30 PM. The featured speaker will be Montrose native and former New York Giants standout Chris Snee.

Proceeds from the event will go to benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Binghamton  and Western Broome and to establish a permanent location for the Greater Binghamton Sports Hall of Fame.

The list of inductees includes:

Alex Alexander, Founder of the B.C. Open

Fran Angeline, Head Football Coach at Union-Endicott for 32 years

Dick Baldwin, Men's Basketball Coach at Broome Community College and Binghamton University

Bob Campbell, Multi-sport standout at Vestal High as well football great at Penn State and the Pittsburgh Steelers

John W. Fox, Long-time sports reporter and editor for Press and Sun Bulletin with a career spanning over six decades

Carl Gaffney, Executive Director of STAC

Bess Greenberg, All-American basketball player at Binghamton University

Jack Halloran, 41 years as Head  Basketball Coach at Whitney Point with 630 career victories

Dick Hoover, Head Football Coach at Vestal High for 28 seasons with 182 victories

Isaiah Kacyvenski, standout football player for Union-Endicott, Harvard and Seattle, St. Louis and Oakland in the NFL

Johnny Logan, standout athlete at Union-Endicott who went on to play with the Boston Braves, Milwaukee Braves and Pittsburgh Pirates

Ron Luciano,  Union-Endicott star ,All-American football player at Syracuse and Major League Baseball Umpire

Jim Matthews, Sr., founder of the Broome Dusters

Master Hidy Ochiai, established Washin-Ryu Style of Karate, Member of the Black Belt Magazine Hall of Fame, featured on Wide World of Sports

King Rice, All-American High School Basketball Player at Binghamton High School, Team Captain and Point Guard at North Carolina, current coach at Monmouth College

Ray Stanton, Sr. Founder of the T.C Jets and member of the American Football Hall of Fame
