Construction has been completed on a $300,000 educational facility at a Girls Scouts camp near Deposit.

Groundbreaking for the lab and classroom at the Amahami Adventure Center in the Town of Sanford took place last November.

The new facility at the Girl Scouts property off Page Pond Road will support education in the science, technology, engineering and math fields.

Solar panels on the roof of the building are expected to provide much of the energy needed for the camp property.

Funding for the project was provided by private donors, businesses and foundations.

The facility will be available for use by Girl Scouts, local organizations and the public.
