An early-morning blaze brought firefighters from several Tioga and Broome county fire departments to a house in the town of Newark Valley.

The fire on Settle Road was reported around 5:45 this morning.

Initial reports indicated people may have been inside the burning structure. But firefighters later determined that everyone apparently made it out.

One person was reported injured as a result of the fire.

The American Red Cross was notified to provide assistance to those affected by the blaze.

The scene of this morning's fire is east of Route 38B. It's a short distance south of Monday night's Chamberlain Road house fire that resulted in the death of Owego fire captain Matthew Porcari.
