Cortland County Sheriff’s officials are investigating a fatal crash in the Town of Cincinnatus.

Officials say the single vehicle crash happened shortly before 7 a.m. October 29 on Route 41 near the intersection of Knickerbocker Road.

Investigators say the driver was alone in the car, traveling north when the car left the road on a curve, hit an earth embankment, became airborne, sheared off a telephone pole and rolled several times.

The driver’s name has not been released pending notification of family.

Route 41 was closed for about three hours in the area of the crash.
