A fallen New York State Trooper from the Southern Tier is being remembered on the anniversary of his death in the line of duty.

A memorial service was held April 25 in Margaretville in Delaware County to remember 29 year old Trooper David Brinkerhoff.

Brinkerhoff, ten years ago, was among those responding to a report of the location of North Country fugitive Travis Trim.

Trim had fled while on probation for drunk driving, stole a van and shot a trooper during a traffic stop.

Trim holed up in a farmhouse and Brinkerhoff was accidentally shot by another member of the State Police response team during the standoff.

Trim was also shot and killed.
