Car shows are popular. That's an obvious fact. The Southern Tier of New York and Northern Tier of Pennsylvania are full of call shows, and they are well attended, weather-dependent of course.

Last week, the Syracuse Nationals were held at the New York State Fairgrounds, and some of the photos I saw from Facebook friends were pretty cool. There was a photo of a Volkswagen Camper Bus that I thought was really neat.

The place where I camp is set to have a car show the last weekend of July. It's a small one, but nonetheless, a fun car show, and the best part is, that they bring in a roasted corn vendor, selling great-tasting corn on the cob.

And speaking of cool cars, have you heard about the friendly state police patrol cruiser competition from the American Association of State Troopers? They are looking for the best-looking cruiser from each state in the United States. This is the 10th year of the competition.

Voting by the public began on Monday, July 17th, and will continue through July 31st, 2023. The reigning champion is the Kentucky State Police. This competition winner will be crowned the 2024 best-looking cruiser.

According to the American Association of State Troopers website, the winner will not only be presented with their America's Best Looking Cruiser Award but will also be featured on the cover of the AAST's America's Best Looking Cruisers Wall Calendar.

Sales of the calendar benefits the American Association of State Troopers Foundation, which provides educational scholarships to dependents of member troopers. To vote for your favorite, visit the photo page containing cruisers from all 50 states, and at the bottom, choose the one you like the best.

Or just check out the different types of police cruisers from each state in the U.S. I say, good luck to New York State or Pennsylvania State Troopers!
